Seahawks mourn loss of longtime NFL offensive line coach Howard Mudd

The Seattle Seahawks lost a former member of the coaching staff on Wednesday. Longtime NFL offensive line coach Howard Mudd succumbed to injuries he had sustained in a motorcycle accident just two weeks prior to his death.

Mudd spent time with a number of NFL teams throughout his career as both a player and a coach.

The Seahawks tweeted the following statement of condolence on Mudd’s passing.

“The Seahawks mourn the loss of one of the most repected offensive line coaches in NFL history,” the tweet read. “Howard Mudd served two tenures with the Seahawks, first under hhead coach Jack Patera (1978-1982) and again from 1993-1997 under Tom Flores and Dennis Erickson. Our deepest sympathies are exteneded to his family and friends.”

Former Seahawks center Kevin Mawae tweeted a touching remembrance of his own following the news of Mudd’s death.

The Seahawks Wire staff sends our condolences to the Mudd’s family and friends.
