Seahawks met with QB Kyler Murray at NFL combine

The Seattle Seahawks were one of 10 teams to have met with star quarterback Kyler Murray at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis.

Murray is expected to go in the top five picks of the upcoming draft, and Seattle is pretty set at quarterback with Pro Bowler Russell Wilson, so this meeting was likely nothing more than a “fact-finding” session, at least according to Peter King of NBC Sports.

Murray met with the Cardinals, Raiders, Giants, Jaguars, Dolphins and Redskins, all quarterback-needy teams set to pick near the top of the draft. He also met with the Lions, Chargers and of course Seattle, all teams seemingly less likely to need Murray’s services but doing their due diligence.

Murray had an absolutely monstrous season at Oklahoma, throwing for 4,361 yards and 42 touchdowns, compared to just seven interceptions. A former first-round pick of the Oakland Athletics baseball team, Murray made the decision to pursue a career in football instead.

As such, he has drawn comparisons to Wilson and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, both who played both baseball and football in college.

However, there’s little reason to expect Murray to end up in a Seahawks uniform anytime soon.
