Seahawks made ‘strongest offer’ to Odell Beckham Jr. before he joined Rams

Signing Odell Beckham Jr. seemed to be right up the Seahawks’ alley. While they didn’t necessarily need more help at wide receiver, Beckham is exactly the kind of athlete Pete Carroll covets and acquiring him at midseason is the kind of move John Schneider has often made to help keep this team competitive over the last decade.

There was reported interested on both sides, as well. Now it sounds like they tried their best to sign him. According to Jeremy Fowler at ESPN, Seattle made the strongest offer in the early days of Beckham’s free agency before he signed with the division rival LA Rams.

By strongest offer, we can probably assume that means they offered the most money. However, the Rams had the advantage of Beckham having a home in LA. They also have an offensive-minded head coach – something on Beckham’s rumored wishlist that the Seahawks were notably lacking.
