Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner making big plays off the field

Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner is clearly one of the best in the game but it’s his off-field plays that are recently garnering him the most attention.

This week, Wagner joined the team at Fuse Venture Partners, where he will work alongside former Microsoft executive John Connors and former Amazon executive Satbir Khanuja. The investment firm will focus on developing software for e-commerce companies.

This move is hardly Wagner’s first foray into the business world – he has also invested in Denali Therapeutics and the Cultural Leadership Fund, not to mention having acted as his own agent to negotiate his recent contract extension.

“If I can be a better businessman than I am a football player, that would be pretty successful, because the bar is set pretty high,” Wagner told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. “I just want to be someone that a football player can look at and say this guy dominated on the field and was able to transition and do just as well. I feel we need more of that.”

Hopefully, Wagner will get his chance to shine this season, but if there is no football, he’ll find a way to keep himself in business.
