Seahawks legend Kenny Easley chosen for Virginia HS Hall of Fame

Legendary Seattle Seahawks safety Kenny Easley will be inducted into the Virginia High School Hall of Fame this summer, according to a press release from the organization.

Easley, who is already a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and is a Ring of Honor member for the Seahawks, will be inducted on June 23 in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The hard-hitting safety played football for Oscar Smith High School in the mid-1970s before earning a scholarship to play football at UCLA.

Easley was a three-time All-American with the Bruins, which led to Seattle selecting him fourth overall in the 1981 NFL Draft.

Although Easley played only seven NFL seasons, he was an absolute force on the field. He was a five-time Pro Bowler, a three-time All-Pro and the Defensive Player of the Year in 1984.

Athletes are eligible for the Virginia High School Hall of Fame 10 years after their high school career ends, although it took Easley much longer than that to finally get his due.

Perhaps he will eventually be joined in the Hall by another legendary former Seahawks safety, Kam Chancellor (Maury High School), who is eligible.
