Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner officially out Week 18 with knee injury

Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner has officially been ruled out on the injury report for the team’s Week 18 matchup against the Cardinals and will not appear in Seattle’s regular-season finale Sunday in Arizona.

“He’s got some swelling, and it just didn’t loosen up enough,” coach Pete Carroll said after Friday’s walkthrough. “He’s got a tight knee, so he can’t do it. If he could, if there was any way, he would, but he can’t.”

Wagner sprained his knee last Sunday in the win over the Lions, and despite a valiant effort, was unable to return in time to play this weekend.

“Bobby’s been around long enough, and we’ve communicated long enough that he knows what he can do,” Carroll continued. “He really has great awareness of whether he could or not.

“If it was possible, he would be ready to go for it, but he just isn’t going to make it.”
