Seahawks injury updates: Colby Parkinson, Dee Eskridge, Travis Homer

The Seahawks have a long list of players who are banged up heading into the preseason. Today, coach Pete Carroll shared updates on a few of them.

First, the bad news. Second-year tight end Colby Parkinson has re-injured the foot that he broke last year and is going to be out for a while.

Parkinson had been getting some positive buzz during training camp, so this is unfortunate. Seattle should be fine at tight end as long as Gerald Everett and Will Dissly hold up, though.

On the bright side, the team’s first draft pick this year should be returning to the field soon. D’Wayne Eskridge suffered a toe injury in the spring that put him on the PUP list to begin camp, but he’s expected to come off it next week as well as running back Travis Homer.

In an ideal world, Eskridge will eventually win the WR3 spot behind D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. He could also be in the mix as a kick returner.
