Seahawks free safety Earl Thomas to sign with Baltimore Ravens

The original Legion of Boom is no more. Seattle Seahawks free safety Earl Thomas intends to sign with the Baltimore Ravens, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Schefter is reporting the contract to be worth four years at $55 million, including $32 million fully guaranteed at signing. Thomas is set to receive $22 million in the first nine months.

Thomas’ deal cannot become official until after the new league year starts at 1 p.m. PT today.

The Seahawks selected Thomas in the first round of the 2010 NFL draft at No. 14 overall. He was just 20 years old on the day he was drafted.

For Seattle, Thomas appeared in 125 regular-season games, tallying 664 combined tackles, 68 passes defensed and 28 interceptions. He added two more interceptions in 12 playoff games.

Thomas wrapped up the final year of his deal with the Seahawks on injured reserve, the second season-ending injury of his career. His parting message for Seattle came Week 4 when he was carted off the field in Arizona.
