Seahawks extend second-round tender to TE Jacob Hollister

The Seattle Seahawks extended a second-round tender to restricted free agent Jacob Hollister on Monday, according to NFL Insider Tom Pelissero.

The second-round tender will pay Hollister $3.25 million in 2020, unless another team signs him to an offer sheet by April 17 – in which case the Seahawks would get a second round pick in return.

It seems very unlikely that another team will be willing to sacrifice a second round pick for Hollister’s services, so it is safe to presume he will be back in the green and blue next season.

Hollister was Seattle’s third leading receiver last year, filling in late in the season for an injured Will Dissly. He had 41 receptions for 349 yards and three touchdowns, often coming up big in clutch situations toward the end of the year.

Hollister will likely return as Seattle’s No. 3 tight end, behind Dissly and veteran Greg Olsen, who was signed earlier in the offseason.

The trio will form one of the strongest tight end groups in the NFL – although health is certainly an issue with Dissly and Olsen – likely why the Seahawks were so quick to bring Hollister back into the mix.
