Seahawks expected to host former Packers pass rusher Nick Perry

The Seahawks could very well be adding to their pass rushing attack ahead of the this year’s NFL draft. Seattle is expected to host former Green Bay Packer Nick Perry for a visit as first reported by CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora and confirmed by ESPN.

The Packers released Perry on March 12, so if Seattle was to sign him, he would not count against the compensatory draft pick formula as a free agent gained.

Perry was originally selected by Green Bay in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft out of USC, where Pete Carroll was the head coach at the time.

Over the last two seasons, Perry finished the year on the injured reserve. In 2018, in nine games played, he logged 24 total tackles, 3 passes defensed, one and a half sacks and one forced fumble.

The Seahawks are constantly scouring the league for pass rush assistance and likely have had Perry on the radar since his release before the start of the new league year.

No official date for his scheduled visit has been announced.
