Seahawks drop to No. 12 in USA TODAY’s post-draft power rankings

The Seattle Seahawks managed to turn four picks in the 2019 NFL draft into a class of 11 players after coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider orchestrated trade after trade.

Seattle selected a defensive end in the first round, a safety, wide receiver and linebacker in the second and third rounds and found value on day three to bulk up the roster heading into camp.

But for the USA TODAY’s Nate Davis, the Seahawks’ efforts might not be enough.

Davis has the Seahawks dropping from No. 10 two spots to No. 12 in his post-draft NFL power rankings.

“Can’t fault decision to open vault for QB Russell Wilson, but Seattle might take step back as it waits for influx of rookies to assimilate,” Davis writes.

Seattle did indeed open the vault for Wilson selecting three wide receivers in April, the first time since 1981 the team has added three wideouts in the same draft.

With D.K. Metcalf, Gary Jennings Jr. and John Ursua all vying to earn a starting spot, we might not find out who gets the nod until training camp wraps up at the end of the summer.
