Seahawks designate TE Ed Dickson for return from injured reserve

The Seattle Seahawks announced some important personnel moves Wednesday afternoon before practice.

Seattle has now designated tight end Ed Dickson for return from the injured reserve. Dickson initially made the 53-man roster cuts before the start of the regular season but was placed on the IR just days later as he continued to recover from the knee surgery he underwent in August.

After sitting out the first eight games of the season, Dickson is now eligible to return to practice and will not count against the 53-man roster limits. However, he will need to be activated before he can play this week against Tampa Bay.

In addition, the Seahawks have placed safety Tedric Thompson on the injured reserve with a shoulder injury. Thompson started six games this year for Seattle, logging 19 tackles and two interceptions.

Defensive end Dekoda Watson will be taking Thompson’s place on the active roster. The veteran has spent time with the Broncos, Patriots, Cowboys, Jaguars, Buccaneers, and most recently, the 49ers.
