Seahawks defensive end Ziggy Ansah day to day with ankle injury

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Ziggy Ansah was inactive Week 7 against the Baltimore Ravens after popping up on the injury report with a sore ankle. He saw limited practice on Friday and had been listed as questionable to play.

Coach Pete Carroll was asked about Ansah’s status going forward during his Monday afternoon press conference.

“It’s a day to day deal,” Carroll said. “He’s got an ankle that he’s got to come back from. He’s going to be caught somewhat like Duane [Brown]. He’s going to want to come back Wednesday/Thursday or so and see if he can get back out there.”

Brown has been battling a biceps injury that he hasn’t been able to shake for the last two weeks. Like Brown, the ability to log reps ahead of the Falcons matchup is imperative.

“We’re going to need to see him, see that he can get off and put some pressure on it,” Carroll explained. “I don’t think we’ll be able to go all the way up to game time and not play him at all during the week and see if he can play. I don’t see that happening, we need to get him some work during the week so he can prove that he’s ok.”

The Seahawks have an off day Tuesday but resume the workweek Wednesday morning as they prepare to face Atlanta.
