Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Monday morning on his weekly coach's show on ESPN 710 Seattle that quarterback Russell Wilson has "got a sprained ankle" but says it's "nothing very serious" and indicated that Wilson should play Sunday at Los Angeles.
"He's got a sprained ankle, a little bit of swelling and he'll make it through," Carroll said. "How could you think otherwise?"
Carroll said Wilson had X-rays and other tests and none revealed any structural damage.
"He's all fine there," Carroll said. Carroll also indicated it is not a high ankle sprain, which tend to be more serious and require more recovery time.
Carrol said the team "will have to take into account" Wilson's injury in practice this week _ meaning he'll be limited _ and said the team is already having discussions about bringing in another backup behind Wilson and undrafted rookie free agent Trevone Boykin.
"We have to take into account that it's going to be hard," Carroll said. "It's going to be hard for him to practice and stuff like that. So we'll have to do a few things here."
Wilson has never missed a snap in an NFL game due to injury since becoming Seattle's quarterback in 2012.
