Seahawks center Justin Britt suffers possible ACL tear in Atlanta

The Seattle Seahawks have struggled to put together a completely healthy offensive line throughout the first half of the 2019 season.

Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons, Seattle finally saw the return of both right guard D.J. Fluker and left tackle Duane Brown. However, center Justin Britt left the game early in the first quarter with what was reported to be a left knee injury. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Coach Pete Carroll said in his post-game press conference, the team fears Britt’s injury could be to his ACL. If the tear is confirmed, Britt would likely be sidelined for the rest of the season.

Backup center Joey Hunt stepped in admirably for Britt for the most part, and quarterback Russell Wilson succumbed to only two sacks on the day. But losing a starting center is a real blow for Seattle with true playoff hopes on the line.

Britt will undergo further testing and diagnosis of the injury and the team should have further information on his status by Carroll’s afternoon press conference on Monday.
