Seahawks take to Twitter to celebrate U.S. victory in Women’s World Cup

The United States came together as one to celebrate the national women’s soccer team winning the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the second straight time with a commanding 2-0 victory over the Netherlands.

The U.S. absolutely dominated the tournament, never facing a deficit while defeating the second-, third- and fourth-ranked teams in the world.

While some of the athletes — particularly Seattle’s own Megan Rapinoe — came under fire for political statements, the women proved to be unfazed by outside factors.

There was an outpouring of support on Twitter, with a lot of it coming from past and present Seahawks players and coaches.
