Seahawks asked LJ Collier how long he could keep eyes open at combine

The Seattle Seahawks were up to their old ways at the NFL combine this season. One year after asking then-Texas punter Michael Dickson to participate in a staring contest, the Seahawks apparently did the same thing with defensive back Lonnie Johnson.

Now, a report from Texas Christian University defensive lineman L.J. Collier indicates the Seahawks aren’t done playing mind games with draft prospects.

“The Seahawks asked me how long could I keep my eyes open,” Collier said when asked about the strangest question he was asked at the combine. “That was kind of strange. They asked me to do the ABC’s and count with it too. So, that was kind of weird.”

Collier is a 4-3 base defensive end prospect, who most scouts believe has the size and power to develop into a solid rotational end in the NFL.

The Seahawks have received a lot of attention for their unorthodox scouting tendencies, but it did help land them Dickson, who was an All-Pro punter in his rookie season last year.
