Seahawks agree to terms with free agent WR Phillip Dorsett

The Seattle Seahawks may have found their new No. 3 wide receiver. According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, the Seahawks are signing free agent receiver Phillip Dorsett to a one-year deal.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Dorsett, 27, spent the last three seasons in New England catching passes from Tom Brady, where he landed after getting traded by Indianapolis in exchange for quarterback Jacoby Brissett.

Dorsett had one of his best seasons last year, recording 29 receptions for 397 yards and five touchdowns, serving as a depth option for Brady and company.

Now, he’ll head to Seattle looking for a similar role. Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf are the top dogs, but Dorsett has a great chance to win the No. 3 receiver job over guys like David Moore, Malik Turner and John Ursua.

The Seahawks like to promote competition in training camp, and Dorsett will provide them another player to evaluate while they try to build the best receiving corps possible for Russell Wilson.
