Seahawks add depth at running back, sign Xavier Turner to roster

The Seahawks announced a couple of personnel moves Wednesday afternoon following practice. Seattle has signed running back Xavier Turner to the 90-man roster.

Turner originally signed with the Cardinals this offseason as an undrafted free agent out of Tarleton State but was waived by the team last Friday. He will add depth to run game with so many backs expected to miss the preseason opener against the Broncos.

Coach Pete Carroll announced Wednesday running backs C.J. Prosise, who is suffering from a hip injury and Travis Homer, battling a quadriceps issue will both sit out Thursday night. J.D. McKissic could also miss out on the action and will be a game-day decision.

To make room for Turner on the roster, cornerback Davante Davis – an undrafted rookie out of Texas – was waived/injured Wednesday afternoon.

Seattle kicks off against Denver Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. PT at CenturyLink Field. You can find everything you need to know about the matchup here.
