Seagull caught on camera stealing a carton of chips on Crosby beach

A seagull was captured on camera helping itself to a carton of chips in a comical moment on Crosby Beach.

Amateur photographer Sarah Fletcher from Waterloo, spotted the seagull swooping down to pick up the takeaway while she was sat in the car with her partner on Saturday.

The 50-year-old managed to get her camera out just in time as the bird skilfully caught the carton in its beak, much to Sarah's amusement.

"We were sitting in the car and these seagulls were sitting in front of us, so I got my phone out and took a couple of pictures of them."

As she starting taking photos, Sarah said the seagull managed to capture the carton in its beak and she burst out laughing.

Sarah said she regularly goes down to the beach to take photos and she was glad to have captured this funny moment.

She added: "It swooped it off the floor and started flying away with it and then dropped it.

"We just started laughing.

"With everything going on it made the mood a bit lighter, it was nice to see."

Sarah told the "I was just sat in the car with my other half yesterday afternoon getting a bit of fresh air. "We weren't in the best moods. We were trying to decide what to do because our wedding was cancelled because of covid and everything was very serious.
