Seagull attack warning at new I'm A Celebrity base camp

Famous faces taking part in this year's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here will have to face a new kind of wildlife threat - with a warning over a dangerous predator around this year's location.

Normally the ITV reality TV series is filmed in the Australian Outback jungle meaning the stars have to avoid spiders, snakes and rats among other dangerous animals.

Buy this year the stars are being warned to look out for seagulls, as the show is being relocated to a UK castle to avoid coronavirus travel restrictions and dangers.

It is believed the show will be filmed at Gwrch Castle in Wales this year, but The Daily Star has reported a spate of seagull "muggings" close to the location - with the local council warning residents to watch out for the aggressive birds.

A spokesperson for Conwy Council said: "We are getting more and more complaints of gulls ‘mugging’ people for food

"In some cases this had led to physical injury."

Reports suggest the gulls have been pinching ice creams and chips straight out of people's hands.

A spokeswoman for Abergele Golf Course, which is located close to the Castle, said: "I bought two ice creams and a seagull swooped down and stole one from me. It’s quite frightening.

"I’ve heard the council brought in a falcon to try and scare them away."

She went on to issue a warning to I'm A Celeb bosses ahead of the show's start, telling them not to leave any food out.

She ssid: "To those taking over the castle – don’t leave food out because the gulls will be all over you!"

I'm a Celebrity returns to TV in the autumn with stars including Jeremy Clarkson, Katie Price's ex Kieran Hayler and Selling Sunset's Christine Quinn rumoured to be taking part.
