An Ayrshire seafront wedding venue hotel has been put up for sale for more than £1.2 million.
The Horizon Hotel in Ayr commands views over the Clyde to Arran and is well placed for golf tourists playing the nearby championship courses at Royal Troon and Trump Turnberry.
The hotel has 25 en-suite bedrooms, a function suite with sea views, beer garden, and the 80 cover Vista Restaurant & Cocktail Bar.
Selling agent Christie & Co said the venue has an experienced management team in place and advance bookings into 2022. It is seeking offers of around £1.25 million for the freehold going concern.
Owner Alan Meikle and his family have owned the hotel for almost 40 years.
He said: "The hotel has been at the centre of my life for 39 years, but it is now time for me to retire and hand the reins on to someone new. Life in the hotel is fast, interesting, and always enjoyable – every day is different.
"I have the utmost respect for the wonderful team of staff we have at the hotel and know they will continue to support the new operator the same way they have supported us."
The hotel close to Ayr town centre and the Belleisle, Seafield and Dalmilling municipal golf courses.
