Sead Haksabanovic in Celtic 'born for this' admission as he makes Rangers chances vow

Sead Haksabanovic says he was 'born' to play in big finals for Celtic as he lifted the lid on his missed chances against Rangers.

The Montenegro international came off the bench as Ange Postecoglou's men steered their way to another Viaplay Cup final triumph with a huge 2-1 win over rivals Rangers. It was forward Kyogo Furuhashi who was the hero at Hampden again with his brace sealing the first piece of silverware on offer in this campaign.

But Haksabanovic played a part in the win at the national stadium as he saw two chances in the late stages of the showpiece final. First his left-footed effort was saved by the outstretched leg of Allan McGregor before a breakaway attack in injury time saw the 23-year-old's effort drift just wide of the post.

The winger, who got a good run of football in the first half of the season for the Hoops, hasn't featured much since the break owing to injury issues but seems to be back to full speed. And he admits he won't miss those kind of chances again when called upon.

He told Celtic TV: "It is difficult [to get up to speed] but I was born for these games. I love games like this, especially finals or big games.

"I came on and they were going for 2-2 and they opened up. So it was easy for me to come behind and get those chances.

"Next time I will score."
