Sea Shanty singer Nathan Evans tells Brian May he doesn't need permission as Queen legend covers his song

Tik Toker turned chart star Nathan Evans was left speechless after Queen legend Brian May covered his Sea Shanty - then told him he didn't need permission to play it.

Former postie Nathan whose debut single of Wellerman became a UK charttopper in January, was thrilled to bits when Brian May covered his Sea Shanty.

Brian told Nathan who signed a three-album deal with Polydor : "Every now and then someone comes along who is great. There's this guy called Nathan Evans who does these fantastic Sea Shanty things. I got myself a little basic simple drum box so with your permission..."

A gobsmacked Nathan responded: "Permission? You do not need permission. You're Brian May." He also sang along to the legendary lead guitarist of Bohemian Rhapsody rock band Queen.

Following his Tik Tok post Brian responded on Instagram: "This great guy probably doesn’t realise (yet) how chuffed I am that he’s so chuffed.

"Hope I get the chance to play on his album. Hmmm ... I wonder if ‘39 would suit him?"

"Well it IS a kind of sea-faring song - written while sailing on the Milky Way, about 118 years in the future, I guess. What d’ye think ? “Don’t you hear my call ....? Bri"

Nathan also told fans: "I am honestly so speechless and shocked and excited and every other emotion you can think off. BRIAN MAY. Thank you. #fyp "

We can't wait to see them play together live.
