Sea Sessions 2019: What you can expect other than music this weekend

Sea Sessions is starting this Friday and it is aiming to be the biggest festival yet.

The organisers are aiming to make the festival much more than music by setting up beach sports, surfing sessions and an urban street jam.

Due to the festival’s location in Bundoran, it is situated along  the Wild Atlantic Way allowing for much more activities to take place as well as the music.

They have announced their Barefoot beach sports is making a return after selling out in advance last year.

Taking place on Saturday and Sunday, it will involve beach volleyball, Barefoot soccer, beach frisbee, beach yoga and Barefoot beach tag rugby.

This event will take place on the green beside Waterworld, a five minute walk from the festival site.

Spaces are limited and if you want to get involved either competitively or just for a laugh email seasessionsbeachsports@gmail.com.

The Surf Expression Session is taking place over the weekend and it brings along a €3000 prize with it.

This year three of Portugal's top performance surfers Tomás Valente, Joao Moreira and Guilherme Ribeiro  are competing alongside Ruyben Ash, Harry Timson and Stan Norman for prize.

The surfers will have to beat last years winner Geroid McDaid.

Last but not least the urban street jam is back and overlooking the main beach as the new home of a custom built skate-park.

Top Irish and European skaters, BMXers, inline skaters and scooter riders will attend including Santa Cruz Skateboarders and Berlin based Joe Hill, Irelands top Skater.

Others include Nils Rapp, Vincent Heller and  Omar Zoref.

Displays will happen on the hour every hour throughout the Festival.

The festival kicks off this Friday June 21 with Sigrid, Clean Bandit and Two Door Cinema Club headlining the festival.

It is hitting Bundoran in Co Donegal from this weekend.

The annual three day festival is set to start on June 21, with gates opening at 6pm.
