Sea Sessions 2019: How to get to the Bundoran festival

Festival season is beginning and with Sea Sessions just around the corner, here is a guide on how to make your travel to Bundoran much easier.

Bus Eireann are supplying direct return services from Dublin to Sea Sessions that cost around €30.

They depart on Thursday at 4.30pm and on Friday at 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm and will return on Monday at 10am, 11am, 12pm and 1pm.

Bus Eireann are also providing free shuttle buses from Ballyshannon to Bundoran for those travelling on Bus Eireann’s Expressway 30/X30.

Expessway Route 30/X30 buses will depart from Dublin to Ballyshannon at 9.30am, 11am, 12.30am, 2pm, 3.30pm and 5pm.

The shuttle buses will then depart from Ballyshannon at 1.20pm, 2.30pm, 4.20pm , 5.30pm, 7.20pm and 8.30pm and you will be dropped at the festival grounds.

Bus Eireann will be providing services later on Friday evening from Dublin but festival goers are advised to book an alternative source of transport from Ballyshannon.

Train services will also be available with trains leaving Dublin and heading to Sligo and then taxi to Bundoran which are priced at €50.

It is a two and a half hour drive from Dublin to Bundoran and it is advised for those driving to take the M3 to Cavan and then on to Enniskillen and Bundoran.

Bundoran is 30 minutes from Sligo and two hours from Belfast.

For those travelling from Galway, it is a two and a half hour drive via the N17 which will bring you through Sligo.

From Cork, it will take much longer as the travel time is over four hours via the M18 and M17.

Bus Eireann’s route Route 30/X30 will cost €22 for a single and €32 return with student singles for €19 and return for €26.50.

Irish Concert Travel are also providing bus services from Dublin, Mullingar, Longford, Carrick on Shannon, Letterkenny, Ballybofey, Donegal Town, Ballyshannon, Galway, Tuam, Claremorris, Charlestown, Tubbercurry, Collooney and Sligo.

The are supplying a return service for the weekend and tickets are available for purchase here.

The festival kicks off this Friday June 21 with Sigrid, Clean Bandit and Two Door Cinema Club headlining the festival.
