A SEA rescue was launched after a person was injured after falling down a cliff at a popular beauty spot in Aberdeenshire.
RNLI Stonehaven were called to attend to a person who had fallen down a cliff at Dunnottar Castle at around 4.30pm on Saturday.
Two volunteers had to swim to the shoreline at the base of the castle, where, after examining the casualty, they found the person had fractured their ankle after “tumbling down the slope”.
The coastguard and paramedics then deemed it safer to extract the casualty by a lifeboat after they deemed the cliff too steep, along with the gravel too loose underfoot.
The casualty was then taken a short distance to Stonehaven harbour on the lifeboat, where they were handed over to an ambulance crew for further treatment.
