A disgusting scammer tried to get the son of a missing woman to stump up $3000 by pretending to know her whereabouts.
Harry McArthur posted screenshots of the horrific exchange on Twitter after the troll, under the profile Rebeckkawhite, got in touch saying they had 'information' about Elaine.
The 48-year-old was last seen outside a shop on Crewe Road North, Edinburgh, around 12.40pm on Saturday April 18.
Created this month, the account said "I found her" but would not say where without first being paid, as reported by Edinburgh Live.
They then try and get Harry to send the cash to an account in Florida under a man's name.
Harry said the account later blocked him, however it was still active on Sunday afternoon.
Posting the images on Twitter, Harry said: I just want to reach out and thank everyone for their support so far.
"My family and friends really appreciate it, and we also appreciate the efforts of the police. However, in times like these, bad people show themselves up.
"If anyone knows who to report this to please do. It's stressful enough without scumbags doing this."
Elaine is described as white, 5ft 2in tall, slim build and with long blonde hair tied up.

She was last seen wearing a khaki green waterproof jacket, blue jeans, green trainers and was carrying a green rucksack.
Anyone with information regarding Elaine’s whereabouts is asked to contact Police Scotland officers on 101, quoting incident number 1604 of 18 April 2020.
