'Scum' in pavement car chase 'could have killed a child' as people run for cover

Footage of two cars speeding down a pavement forcing pedestrians to run for cover could have led to the "death of a child" said disgusted ECHO readers.

In the video, which shows two cars taking part in a pursuit in what is believed to be the Walton, Anfield and Clubmoor areas of north Liverpool, a Range Rover, which is being chased by another vehicle, can be seen mounting a narrow pavement in the Muirhead Avenue area.

The pursuit begins on the road, at slow speeds, with the chasing vehicle at times accelerating up to the back of the Range Rover in front.

The man in the second car, recording the incident on a dash-cam type of device, can be heard uttering: "Have a smash, have a smash."

Moments later, he says, '****house, this kid.

"Where's he going?"

But suddenly the lead car speeds off as it overtakes a car in front, overtaking on a speed bump.

The pursuing vehicle accelerates to catch up, as he replies: "Smokes me....he's got no chance."

Next, the car in front decides to turn onto the pavement and dangerously speeds away on the footpath.

Two people, who appear to be children, dodge back towards the wall to stay out of the way of the two cars, now moving fast on the pavement.

One man, further down the pavement, is also seen to skip quickly out of the way to avoid getting knocked down.

On social media and in the comments section of the ECHO website, people gave their views on the shocking incident.

Yoong Yee Ren said: "I thought this was a game I used to play on computer." while Rach Ve said: "They should be locked up."

Paul Jones said: "These people deserve to get their licences permanently revoked, never to drive again."
