Sculptor struggles to find buyer for $100,000 Charlie Kirk statue

  • New York sculptor Sergio Furnari is struggling to find a buyer for his $100,000 lifesize statue of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.
  • Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot dead on 10 September 2025 at Utah Valley University while hosting a political debate.
  • Furnari, who spent his own money on the steel and resin monument, said he created it to commemorate Kirk and free speech, not due to political alignment.
  • The artist expressed frustration over the lack of financial support, with an online fundraiser only collecting $8,225 towards his costs.
  • If the statue remains unsold, Furnari plans to display it in Times Square on the first anniversary of Kirk's death.
