A scuba diver has died after being bitten by a shark off the coast of Australia.
The 20-year-old, who has not been named, suffered serious injuries to his leg and significant blood loss as a result of the attack.
A doctor and paramedic were winched down from a RACQ Lifeflight Rescue helicopter to the man's location near Indian Head, Fraser Island, Queensland, shortly after 2pm on July 4.
The team tried for over an hour to save the diver, but his injuries were too severe and he died at the scene, according to the Queensland Ambulance Service.
The man's body was taken to the mainland by the helicopter and will now be handed over to the coroner, 9News reported.

It comes after a 23-year-old Queensland Parks and Wildlife ranger was killed in a shark attack in the same area in April.
Zachary Robba was fatally mauled by a great white shark in April.
At least four people have died in shark attacks in Australia this year.
A 57-year-old diver was killed off Western Australia in January and a 60-year-old surfer died near Kingscliff in New South Wales in June.
Australia has recorded the highest number of shark fatalities in the world over the past 30 years, according to finder.com.au.
New South Wales recorded the most attacks with 146, followed by Queensland with 86 and Western Australia with 81.
In the U.S., on average, one person dies each year from a shark attack.
