Furniture and flooring retailer SCS is opening a new store on Birkenshaw Trading Estate in Uddingston this weekend.
The site has been completely re-fitted "to integrate both the digital and physical shopping experiences", with in-store examples of sofas and flooring options, alongside large interactive screens that offer an ‘endless aisle’ of the retailer's full website range.
There’s also a new dining department, chair gallery, lighting product range and a coffee bar.
Steve Carson, chief executive at SCS, said: “Our team has worked extremely hard designing, planning and delivering the concept store so we are delighted to see the fruits of those efforts come to life.
“Over a number of years, we’ve witnessed the prominence of digital shopping rise, and whilst we’ve adapted our online services to fit the changing market, there will always be a need for a physical presence when it comes to made to order furniture.
“Customers want to see and feel the products they’re buying before they purchase, so having a store where we can combine the efficiency of digital and the experience of in-store really helps us create a space that our customers, and employees, will benefit from.“
