Screenwriter Kevin Williamson puts Palm Springs home up for sale

Dec. 13--Screenwriter Kevin Williamson of "Scream" fame has put his home in the Little Tuscany area of Palm Springs on the market at $1.395 million.

Set behind a gated drive on more than half an acre, the horseshoe-shaped Midcentury is accessed through a rotunda entry. Floor-to-ceiling glass complement contemporary interiors, which include an updated kitchen, a dining room, five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms in 4,400 square feet.

Glass doors off of formal living areas give way to flat grounds containing a large expanse of grass, a pool and a cabana with a bathroom, and across to a separate guest house. At the front of the home is a flagstone motor court.

Williamson, creator of the TV shows "Dawson's Creek" and "Vampire Diaries" as well as the screenwriter for three installments of the "Scream" film series, paid $1.15 million for the property in 2004. The 49-year-old more recently developed the Fox series "The Following."

Andy Linsky, Sven Vennen and Kevin Bass of Windermere Real Estate Coachella Valley hold the listing.

Williamson previously made real estate news in 2012 when he sold a contemporary home in Hollywood Hills to former L.A. Clipper Danny Granger. That property recently changed hands again in September, with the NBA forward selling for $3.8 million.
