'Screens with crowd sounds on loud' - Leeds United fans on what football could look like when it returns

Whenever football resumes, things are unlikely to return to normal for some time.

The coronavirus outbreak has meant Leeds United have not played in well over a month - March 7 to be precise.

The current suspension on all matches is indefinite although the EFL have mentioned a possible return to action by June.

Nevertheless, whenever games do get the green light it looks almost certain that matches will have to be played behind closed doors to further halt the spread of Covid-19.

Of course, the prospect of playing in front of no supporters is the same for all clubs.

But for the Whites, chasing promotion to the Premier League, the idea of an empty Elland Road seems rather alien.

If games are to be played behind closed doors, what would make the TV experience better?

Some suggestions already mentioned include grounds piping crowd music into the stadium whilst there has even been talk of cardboard cut-outs to imitate fans in the stands.

We posed the question on our dedicated Whites' Facebook page.

Below are just a few of the responses supporters came up with.

Gary Townend : Massive video screens around the stands showing a packed crowd with the sound ramped up

David Garner : Might be tricky for the players to keep 2 metres away from each other for 90 minutes

Andy Wilkinson : Beer. And lots of it.

Mick Parker : Most other grounds already have this, 1st and hopefully last time we'll need it

Kathy Williams : All the fans stood outside around the stadium singing their hearts out.

Maureen Barry : think the crowd noise would be best ...

James Mcglone : Just be great to get to watch it

Nick Kozyra : Pointless. No crowd, no atmosphere.
