A Business Class passenger had to be restrained by cabin crew after he started screaming minutes after takeoff on board a Turkish Airlines flight to Sudan after complaining about not being able to breath.
The man pushed flight attendants who were trying to calm him down after he smashed a cabin window and oxygen mask box.
Several passengers tried to stop the man, reportedly of Sudanese origin, and flight attendants managed to calm him down after about 15 minutes, according to The Sun .
Hussein Malla, who was on the flight, said the was taken back to his seat as the plane continued toward Khartoum.
But after two hours, the man suddenly stood up and headed towards the front of the plane after the pilot announced the plane was returning to Istanbul.
Quick thinking passengers had to grab him and he was shackled by plastic restraints provided by the stewards.
Children on the plane began yelling in fear and crying during the tense ordeal on the Boeing 737-900.
After the TK680 flight landed, just three hours after it took off, the man was escorted off the plane where he was met by police.
He reportedly shook hands with some passengers and kissed children as he left the plane.
It is not know where the man was taken and his identity has not been released by officials.
Turkish Airlines have been contacted for comment.
