Milestone has released the first gameplay trailer for Screamer, offering a look at the upcoming racing title that reimagines the classic series. The trailer highlights how players will be able to use twin-stick controls to battle opponents on the track, blending fast-paced driving with combat elements for a new spin on arcade racing.
The footage gives a peek at the game’s aggressive style, with Milestone aiming to evolve the genre by combining intense action and storytelling. Screamer isn’t just about crossing the finish line first—it’s about surviving the chaos on the way there, and the trailer sets the tone for what players can expect when it launches in 2026.
Set in the anime-inspired city of Neo Rey, Screamer drops players into a world where racing is as much about combat as it is about speed. Drivers known as Screamers battle for glory, power, or revenge, all while harnessing a mysterious tech called the ECHO that’s turned every race into a brutal, personal fight. With each character carrying their own story, players will face off in chaotic, no-holds-barred showdowns where raw speed won’t be enough.
A standout feature is Screamer’s Twin Stick control system—one stick for steering, the other for drifting—giving players tight control over every corner and collision. Boosts, Strikes and Overdrive moments add layers of strategy, with defense playing just as big a role as offense. Blending arcade action with character-driven drama, Screamer aims to deliver something different when it launches next year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
