Scrambler rider taken to hospital after coming off bike

A man was taken to hospital after he came off a scrambler bike near The Dream Site in St Helens.

The emergency services were called out to the site near junction seven of the M62 earlier today following reports of an accident.

Police said a man had come off a 'scooter' type bike and injured his shoulder. Officers called an ambulance to the scene.

Officers also seized a scrambler type motorbike.

The force' s road police unit released a statement on social media and a picture of a scrambler type bike.

It read: "Following a report of a rider falling off a scooter causing himself a serious shoulder injury, officers attended the Dream site on St Helen's seizing this bike.

"Due to the location its requiring quite a few ambulance resources to rescue him. Completely avoidable."
