The mother of three and seven grandchildren moved to Liverpool and made it her home in 1976. Jenny continued her love for running and for almost 60 years has competed in races around the world.
The relentless competitor does not tire in finding events to compete in and said: "Far too many to count. Currently approximately 20 per year.

"In 2022 I went to Canada in the World Age Group Triathlon Championships and I came 6th. My most memorable moment was winning the European Age Group Triathlon last year in Munich, Germany".
When she was in her 40s she ran half marathons but now does triathlon sprints. The sprints are made up of a 750m swim, followed by a 20km cycle race and finished with a 5k run.
Jenny's advice to anyone who wants to run who may think age is a restriction said: "Find someone to run with, set regular dates each week to run, reassure yourself and the discomfort wears off after a short time. Have competitions to aim for and have a training schedule".

About the secret to her fitness Jenny said: "I’m very careful about my diet and try to keep it mainly vegetables and I occasionally eat meat. I avoid sugar and I don't drink alcohol. I train six times a week including open water swimming in Wales in a lake in the Snowdonia area".
Her son Francis added: "I do cycling and we are all runners in the family. I’m proud of mum and it’s very inspiring for my kids that granny is getting out there running and they want to do the same.
"She is a good example for my kids aged six and seven to get out there and do exercise. I just hope she remains injury free and keeps it up."

Competition sees Jenny competing in venues all over the world including, New Zealand and Australia.
Jenny concluded: "My goal is to stay in the British Age group Triathlon team and to continue to compete in the World and European Championships."
