Scouse kids dressed as Theresa May and Donald Trump for World Book Day and we can't stop laughing

Each year World Book Day seems to get more and more popular with kids enjoying the chance to dress up in their best fancy dress.

This year has been no exception, as thousands of parents across Merseyside have dressed up their children as their favourite book character.

From Harry Potter to Mary Poppins we’ve seen it all, and while all of them are adorable, we must admit that some are funnier than others.

After putting a shoutout on our Facebook page this morning, we’ve been inundated with World Book Day pictures from parents across Liverpool and Wirral.

While many played it safe with traditional costumes, some Scousers thought outside the box with their costume ideas and they’re hilarious.

Archie, aged 7 and Harleigh, aged 11 both dressed up as Donald Trump, while Miley, aged 10 dressed up as Mrs Hinch.

Some of our other favourites include Alex, aged nine, dressed as John Lennon, and Lucas dressed as Theresa May.
