The 61-year-old can remember the name of every US president, all of the Christmas number ones and Grand National winners for the last 95 years, as well as being able to recite facts faster than Google, Siri and an Amazon Alexa.

Gary, who is originally from Kirkdale but now lives in Irby, Wirral first noticed his special skill when he was around ten years old and soon set himself a challenge to recite something about every day in the month of April.

He told the ECHO : "As a child, I knew I was good at remembering things. "I had to be careful at school otherwise I'd be called a freak. I just kept myself to myself.

"It helped me through school with my exams and it was very useful in working life because I could stand up and give a presentation to 200 people about any subject that we were working on."

The ECHO columnist has performed his unique skill in front of audiences before but will take on his biggest audience yet tomorrow on Beat the Chasers.

He will face Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha, Mark ' The Beast' Lambett, Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace, Anne 'The Governess' Hegerty, Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan and Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis, to try and take home the huge cash prize.

In a preview of tomorrow's show, Gary can be seen telling host, Bradley Walsh about his special gift, before challenging him to name a date so he can perform his unique skill.

Bradley says the date: "8th January" and Gary tells him: "8th January, Elvis was born. 1935. That's a fact.

"David Bowie was also born and so was Shirley Bassey."

The audience can then be seen clapping and the Chasers and Bradley seem impressed.

Watch Gary on Beat the Chasers, Saturday September 25 at 8.30pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
