Scouse contestant on The Chase destroys The Beast and wins thousands

The Beast had his 'worst performance ever' on The Chase after coming up against a contestant from Liverpool.

Dave, Gabrielle, Joseph and Mary took on the Chaser hoping to win a big cash prize.

Dave showed his incredible knowledge immediately, winning £6,000 in the cash builder.

The writer from County Wicklow didn't have any trouble against Mark Labbett either, as he breezed through to the final.

Gabrielle was hoping to match Dave's success but came unstuck after a £2,000 cash builder.

And soon, The Beast, who appeared to be on fine form, eliminated Gabrielle from the show.

Next up was Joseph, from Liverpool.

The 41-year-old musician produced a confident first round, earning £5,000 for his team.

Joseph started strong against The Beast in the head to head but fell back after some difficult questions.

But in a one-question shootout, Joseph defeated The Beast and brought his team's total jackpot up to £11,000.

Dave and Joseph hoped Mary could add more money to the pot, but after a hard head to head, she suffered the same fate as Gabrielle.

Going into the final with just two players, the odds were not in Dave and Joseph's favour.

In the last round, they managed to score 11 points.

But The Beast said he had 'his worst performance ever' as he failed to match Dave and Joseph's 11 points.

By the time the clock hit zero seconds, Mark had only scored 10 points - meaning Dave and Joseph won the £11,000 jackpot.

The Chase viewers were equally as shocked.

Luke Thomas tweeted: "Ouch beat the beast with 11 questions."

David Murphy said: "Absolute mare by The Beast."

Baren tweeted: "Mark’s had a shocker there."

And Fiona said: "Fair play to them. Well done."
