Scotty Miller on Tyreek Hill: ‘I’d love to race him, and let the best man win.’

TAMPA, Fla. — Bucs receiver Scotty Miller did not think his recent comments about being faster than Chiefs speedster Tyreek Hill would blow up into a Super Bowl storyline. He was merely giving an honest answer to a question posed to him on the Dan Patrick Show.

“I haven’t really gotten anywhere not being confident in myself in this profession — or in life, really,” Miller said Wednesday. “I just answered that question confidently and just said what I thought.”

Miller made it clear Wednesday that he was not being disrespectful to the Kansas City star, or trying to bash his opponent’s “unbelievably fast” skills.

“I have so much respect for Tyreek Hill and everything he’s done,” Miller said. “Really he’s a guy I aspire to be like —a smaller receiver that’s turned himself into really one of the best receivers in the NFL. So I’m hoping to have a similar career to him.”

Miller did not, however, back down from his confidence in himself or his own speed.

“I’ll never turn down a challenge,” Miller said. “I’d love to race him, and let the best man win.”
