Spring training is just around the corner. Soon, 15 major league baseball teams will be batting away in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Ariz. If the Cactus League schedule is already emblazoned on your calendar, here are two hotel packages to consider:
The Scott Resort & Spa has just done a $15 million refresh of its public spaces and opened a new restaurant and bar, the Canal Club. Now they're offering baseball-loving guests a couple of add-on options, including an $80 spring-training kit that includes cocktails for two at the Canal Club, breakfast the next morning, sunscreen, Cracker Jacks, a baseball and a Sharpie, suitable for autograph needs. For $60 more, you can add on a 60-minute batting practice. Details: Rooms start at $259; www.thescottresort.com.
The year-old Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa (www.andazscottsdale.com) is doing a "Suite Life for Giants Fans" package that includes accommodations in the resort's largest and swankiest suites, two tickets to a San Francisco Giants game, a $50 Uber gift card to get you to Scottsdale Stadium and a spring-training kit with baseballs, Sharpies, sunscreen and those classic Cracker Jacks. The package ($1,999 and up, two-night minimum) is available between Feb. 23 and March 23.
