Scottish Youth Cup blow for Northern Ireland youngsters as Rangers v Celtic to be played behind closed doors

We've barely recovered from the drama of last weekend's Old Firm clash but we've still got a few more encounters between Celtic and Rangers to enjoy before the end of the season.

The heated match at Parkhead resulted in bans for Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Steven Gerrard and Scott Brown with both clubs being charged for failing to control their players and staff at the full-time whistle.

Despite trailing their rivals by 13 points, Rangers will have already turned their attention to the rematch after the split in the hope they can bounce back from the 2-1 loss.

Celtic might have the league wrapped up but they'll be desperate to win on the Ibrox turf after their 1-0 defeat before the New Year.

But both sets of fans also have two cup finals to look forward to contested by the Glasgow rivals before the campaign comes to a close.

The two sides will meet in the Youth Cup final at Hampden on Thursday, April 25 with a 7.05pm kick off - but there's some disappointing news for supporters.

The contest will take place behind closed doors meaning supporters will not be in attendance to cheer on their side.

Northern Ireland kids such as Chris McKee, Kyle McClelland, Daniel Finlayson and Ben Wylie have all starred at youth level this season for their respective clubs and will likely play some part in the final.

Celtic and Rangers will also meet in the final of the Glasgow Cup but that is also expected to be played behind closed doors.
