Scottish Women's Football & s1jobs launch Youth Coach of the Month award

Scottish Women's Football and s1jobs have launched a new monthly Youth Coach of the Month award.

The organisations teamed up to showcase and celebrate the best leaders and role models throughout the girls' game in Scotland.

Players, parents, and fellow coaches are invited to nominate coaches who "foster a positive environment at their clubs, to ensure girls get the most out of their football, and who display the values of women’s football in the spirit of fairness and solidarity".

The coaches with the most nominations each month will be named s1jobs Youth Coach of the Month - provided they have kept clean disciplinary records.

The winner will also be featured on the Scottish Women's Football channels.

Scottish Women’s Football CEO Aileen Campbell said: “I am delighted that with our recruitment partner s1jobs we are able to showcase and celebrate the folk in girls’ football who give up their time to offer opportunities for girls to play the game they love, get healthy and develop as part of a strong team.

“Since I have taken this position I have been blown away by the commitment and integrity of so many volunteers who give so much to foster an encouraging environment with respect for each other and opponents.

"We often focus so much on sporting success we forget all this other good work that goes on as well, which is why we want to give them a chance to shine. I encourage everyone to get onto our website and nominate.”

Managing director at s1jobs Gavin Mochan added: “As SWF’s recruitment partner, s1jobs recognises that most of the people providing wonderful opportunities for young footballers also hold down day jobs and have full-time careers of their own.

"The skills and values girls learn at football will hold them in good stead for the rest of their lives in whatever career they end up in, and it is absolutely right that the folks giving them these skills for the future are recognised. We’re proud to be backing this initiative.”

You can nominate the s1jobs Youth Coach of the Month on the Scottish Women's Football website HERE.
