Scottish Water identify burst water main after disruption to southside residents

A burst water main has been identified by Scottish Water after a number of southside residents reported having no water supply this morning.

Households in the G53 area - which takes in Crookston, Pollok, Nitshill, and Parkhouse - complained of the issue earlier today.

Now, Scottish Water has confirmed that engineers are on route to Braidcraft Road to investigate a possible burst water main on the road.

A statement from the company reads: "We have now identified the cause of the interruption to water supply affecting customers in the G53 area of Glasgow.

"We are on our way to Braidcraft Road to investigate a possible burst water main.

"Please be aware that you may experience no water supply or low / intermittent water pressure. You may also experience discoloured water.

"At the moment we do not have an estimated time of repair but we will update this message as soon as we have an update.

"If you require additional support,  please use this link to sign up as a Priority Services Customer.

"If you have experienced flooding due to this incident and need support, please call us on 0800 0778 778 or via one of the other methods  on our contact us page."
