Scottish TV host Lorraine Kelly replaced by Dr Hilary as she begs for help over health

Scottish TV host Lorraine Kelly has been forced off air for the second time this year, due to poor health.

The ITV presenter was facing "issues" before her show this morning (March 16) as she lost her voice, reports the Liverpool Echo.

During Good Morning Britain, presenters Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway discussed their fellow hosts health issues.

Kate said: "So Lorraine is here at 9am but if you follow our Twitter you will know that there are issues going on."

The screen cut to the Scottish presenter, so she could give her daily preview of what is coming up on the show - but she was sitting tight-lipped, holding up a sign.

The sign read: "I've lost my voice. Hilary can you take over?" Kate asked: "Hilary are you there?"

The doctor then appeared on screen, and said: "I am. And while we help Lorraine get her voice back I can tell you what she's got coming up."

Dr Hilary then gave a run down of the upcoming show, including health news, Fergie and Strictly's Tess Daily. But host Ben Shephard couldn't help but poke fun at Lorraine before they returned to GMB.

He said in a croaky voice: "We can help you."

As Kate erupted into laughter, Ben added: "Have you been shouting at the Chancellor, is that what it is?" Lorraine nodded in agreement with a huge grin on her face.

Kate then joked: "I don't like the idea that female presenters are reduced to writing things on cards. We will be silenced Lorraine!"

Lorraine then held up a second sign that read: "See you at 9am." Ben said: "It's going to be a thoroughly entertaining hour with Lorraine and no voice."

Lorraine took to social media to discuss her issue, writing on Twitter: "HELP! I’ve lost my voice - any cures that have worked for you (and yes - well aware some might say me not able to talk can only be a blessing)."

This news was the second time Lorraine has been forced off air, as a few weeks back she had to be sent home "for the first time ever", due to a "hideous" sickness bug.

At the time, she said: "When you have to be sent home from work early in the morning because you are suddenly attacked by a hideous bug and were looking forward to interviewing @adamlambert.

"THAT! Beyond disappointed but imagine if I had infected him !!!!!!"
