Scottish TV favourite delights fans at sell-out chat show in Airdrie

A Scottish television favourite delighted a sell-out Airdrie audience at an intimate Q&A session at the weekend.

Radio host Ross Owen sat down with Still Game’s Ford Kiernan at the Penny Cars stadium to delve into the actor and writer’s successes.

Kiernan, who plays Jack Jarvis in the beloved programme, discussed his career for almost an hour before taking questions from the audience.

The 57-year-old then had his picture taken with dozens of delighted fans.

Host Ross told the Advertiser: “It was a fantastic night.

“The audience were great and Ford really enjoyed it.

“He said he still plans to write more material with Greg Hemphill, which went down well.

“I was pleased he agreed to do it because he gets asked to do these things all the time.”

Ross continued: “I’ve similar evenings coming up next month with Matt Costello and Paul Young who play Stevie the Bookie and Shug in Still Game, as well as Grado.”
