Scottish TUI flight forced to divert to Manchester after declaring 'mid-air fault'

A TUI flight from Glasgow Airport had to be diverted to Manchester Airport following a mid-air fault.

The BY314 flight departed the Scottish airport at 3.45pm on Thursday and was bound for Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, but was forced to loop back to Manchester Airport while flying over the North Sea

The TUI flight landed at the English airport at 4.52pm due to an issue relating to the weather radar system, according to Glasgow Live.

The airline confirmed to Glasgow Live that the diversion was part of standard protocol and that the issue was fixed within two hours.

The BY314 flight departed from Manchester Airport at 6.13pm and landed in Egypt shortly after 1am.
