Scots jetting off to Spain for a holiday have been warned of massive fines if they are caught urinating in the sea.
Officials in the popular resort city of Vigo have said that anybody who is found to be relieving themselves “in the sea or on the beach” will be punished.
The city council has categorised it as a "minor infraction", as well as a “infringement of hygiene and sanitary regulations”.

Those who are caught breaking this rule will be issued with a fine of £640, according to local media reports.
Additionally, the city is also reportedly considering introducing fines against people who bathe in the sea or leave trash lying around on the beach.
Bringing a barbecue or gas cylinder to the beach could also potentially land you with a fine soon as well.
In an effort to avoid a situation in which somebody on the beach has no other option but to urinate in the water, the council will introduce public toilets during the summer.
It has not been made clear how officials will monitor and enforce the new rule.
The announcement follows the news that holidaymakers to Spain could be issued with a fine of up to £2,500 for walking around bare-chested away from the beach.
